Computer Check-Ups

How often should you do this?

Stick to organizing and cleaning your computer weekly, monthly or quarterly. Schedule a recurring calendar reminder to work on this. Don't let it get too messy to the point where you have to go looking for this email and won't be able to find it

When was the last time you checked your computer for updates?

This is the best time to update your computer. While your computer is updating, take a walk, do some squats, read a book, look through your social media, take a nap or take a break (mentally, physically and emotionally)

Are there any extremely old or large files that you no longer need in your downloads folder?

If yes, they got to go -->

🗑️Are you backing up important documents that are saved on your computer in Dropbox?

If you are not, make sure that the latest version is uploaded in Dropbox and deleted from your desktop

Do you have duplicate documents that could or do create confusion?

If yes, then contemplate, how to create versions by date, numbers or descriptive text

Is there a lot of clutter on your desktop?

If yes, create folders and subfolders with a naming convention that works for you. Delete files and apps that you no longer use or need. This goes back to deleting duplicate documents, backing up files into dropbox and cleaning your download folder

Are your Dropbox folders easy to navigate? Can you find what you are looking for? Oh, the many ways we can name the same file but it is time to delete any duplicate documents. Again, create folders and subfolders with a naming convention that works for you and your team

Do you feel like the folders you have created are organized and easily searched?

If yes, good job! If no, do it!
